Send invoice follow-ups from a Notion ready signal
Mark an invoice ready in your Notion workflow and let Notis send its Clientary invoice message.
Trigger
Page Content Updated
Triggers when the body content of a Notion page is updated. Customer optionally scopes with at most one of: - data_source_id: any row in this data source - page_id: this specific page - parent_page_id: any page whose immediate parent is this page With none set, fires for any page content edit in the workspace the integration has access to. Notion aggregates content edits within a short window (~60s typical).
Action
Send Invoice Message
Tool to send an invoice message to recipients via email. Use when you need to email an invoice to clients with customizable subject, message content, and options to send a copy to yourself or attach a PDF.
Why this helps
A prepared invoice can sit unsent when the final send step depends on remembering to switch back into Clientary.
- Reduce the gap between invoice preparation and sending.
- Make invoice follow-through easier to complete during a busy day.
- Use a clear readiness step to initiate client billing communication.
Setup
Build it in a few focused steps.
- 1Connect Notion and Clientary to Notis once through the portal.
- 2Create an automation prompt asking Notis to send the matching Clientary invoice message when the Notion invoice page is updated to ready.
- 3Select Page Content Updated for the relevant invoice page and choose a channel for run reports.
- 4Mark one real invoice ready and verify the correct Clientary invoice message is sent.
Questions about this workflow
What must the prompt specify?
Describe which invoice to send and that sending should happen only after the Notion page indicates it is ready.
Can the message be customized?
Clientary supports a customizable invoice message; describe the intended message in the automation prompt.

Supported Triggers and Actions
Notis builds workflows that link Notion to Clientary. A trigger fires from one place; an action lands in another.
Notion triggers
Clientary actions
Recurring trigger
Notis starts this workflow on a schedule, such as daily, weekly, or during business hours.
Create Client
Tool to create a new client record in Clientary. Use when you need to add a new client to the system with company details and contact information.
Webhook trigger
Notis starts this workflow when an external tool or custom backend sends an HTTP request.
Create Contact
Tool to create a new contact within a specified client. Use when you need to add a contact to a client account with name and email as required fields.
All Page Events
Triggers when any Notion page is created or updated across the workspace.
Create Expense
Tool to create a new expense record in Clientary to track expenditures within your account. Use when you need to record expenses, optionally assigning them to specific clients or projects. Requires an amount field.
Comment Created
Triggers when a new comment is created in Notion. Optional `page_id` filter scopes to comments on a specific page. When omitted, fires for any new comment in the workspace the integration has access to. Requires the 'Read comments' capability on the Notion integration. If a connection was authorized before that capability was enabled, the user must re-authorize the connection for comment events to flow.
Create Lead
Tool to create a new lead record in Clientary. Use when you need to add a new lead to the system with company details and contact information.
New Comment
Triggers when a new comment is added to a specified Notion block or page.
Create Project
Tool to create a new project in Clientary with name and rate. Use when you need to set up a new project for tracking time, expenses, or managing client work.
Database Created
Triggers when a new Notion database (the container) is created. A database is the post-2025-09-03 container that holds one or more data sources. This trigger fires for the container's creation event (`database.created`), distinct from `NOTION_DATASOURCE_CREATED` which fires when a new data source is added to an existing database. Most customers calling Notion's `POST /v1/databases` (the legacy API) or creating a database via the Notion UI will see this event. Adding a new data source to an existing database fires `data_source.created` instead — use `NOTION_DATASOURCE_CREATED` for that. Notion's payload puts `entity.type: "block"` (the container is a `child_database` block in the content tree) and `entity.id` is the database id.
Create Task
Tool to create a new task in Clientary. Use when you need to create a task with a title, optionally associating it with a project and assignee.
Data Source Created
Triggers when a new Notion data source is created. Fires workspace-wide. The payload's `data.parent` carries the data source's tree parent (typically the teamspace) for downstream filtering. A single template-based database creation can fire multiple `data_source.created` events at once — one per data source the template instantiates.
Delete Client
Tool to remove a client and all associated projects, invoices, estimates, and contacts. Use when you need to permanently delete a client from Clientary. WARNING: Deletions are permanent and not reversible.
Data Source Schema Updated
Triggers when a Notion data source's schema is updated. Fires on column add / remove / rename. Payload includes `data.updated_properties: [{id, name, action}]` so consumers can discriminate the kind of change downstream. Optional `data_source_id` filter scopes to schema changes on a single data source. When omitted, fires for any schema change in the workspace the integration has access to. Note: adding a column also fires `page.properties_updated` once per existing row in the data source. Customers wanting a single structural-change signal should use this trigger.
Delete Lead
Tool to permanently delete a lead and all associated Estimates and Contacts. Use when you need to remove a lead that is no longer needed. Warning: This action is irreversible.
