When something happens in Notion, Notis takes the next step in Circleci. Describe what you want in plain English, or start from one of the examples below.

Ways Notis can move work from Notion to Circleci
Start a CircleCI pipeline from a Notion release brief
Create a release brief in Notion and have Notis start the corresponding CircleCI pipeline, then report the run details in your chosen channel.
Show recent CircleCI pipelines for a Notion deploy request
When a deploy request's properties change in Notion, have Notis retrieve recent CircleCI pipelines for the relevant project and summarize the latest activity.
Retrieve CircleCI configuration when a Notion build plan changes
When the body of a Notion build plan changes, have Notis fetch the relevant CircleCI pipeline configuration so the team can review the plan against what runs.
Investigate test failures from a Notion comment
When someone comments about a failing CircleCI job in Notion, have Notis retrieve its test metadata and share failure details for follow-up.
Fetch CircleCI job details from a Notion discussion
When a new comment is added to a specified Notion page or block, have Notis retrieve details for the referenced CircleCI job and report its status and timing.
Check self-hosted CircleCI runners from a Notion request
When a new Notion page requests runner capacity, have Notis retrieve the available self-hosted CircleCI runners and report what is configured.
List CircleCI workflows for a project subpage
When a new subpage is added beneath a Notion project page, have Notis retrieve workflows for the CircleCI pipeline referenced by that project.
Review CircleCI config after a Notion schema change
When a Notion data source schema changes, have Notis retrieve the relevant CircleCI pipeline config to support a quick review of automation documentation and expectations.
Capture runner baseline when a Notion data source is created
When a new Notion data source is created, have Notis retrieve the configured CircleCI self-hosted runners as a reference for any build-tracking setup.
Supported Triggers and Actions
Notis builds workflows that link Notion to Circleci. A trigger fires from one place; an action lands in another.
Notion triggers
Circleci actions
Recurring trigger
Notis starts this workflow on a schedule, such as daily, weekly, or during business hours.
Get Job Artifacts
Tool to retrieve artifacts produced by a specific job. use after a job has completed to list its output files.
Webhook trigger
Notis starts this workflow when an external tool or custom backend sends an HTTP request.
Get Job Details
Tool to fetch details of a specific job within a project. use when you need status, timing, and executor information for a circleci job by its number.
All Page Events
Triggers when any Notion page is created or updated across the workspace.
Get Pipeline Config
Tool to fetch pipeline configuration by id. use when you need the source or compiled yaml of a specific pipeline.
Comment Created
Triggers when a new comment is created in Notion. Optional `page_id` filter scopes to comments on a specific page. When omitted, fires for any new comment in the workspace the integration has access to. Requires the 'Read comments' capability on the Notion integration. If a connection was authorized before that capability was enabled, the user must re-authorize the connection for comment events to flow.
Get Test Metadata
Tool to fetch test metadata for a specific job. use when you need detailed test results, run times, and failure messages after a job completes.
New Comment
Triggers when a new comment is added to a specified Notion block or page.
Get User Information
Tool to retrieve information about a circleci user by their unique id. use when you need user profile details after obtaining the user id.
Database Created
Triggers when a new Notion database (the container) is created. A database is the post-2025-09-03 container that holds one or more data sources. This trigger fires for the container's creation event (`database.created`), distinct from `NOTION_DATASOURCE_CREATED` which fires when a new data source is added to an existing database. Most customers calling Notion's `POST /v1/databases` (the legacy API) or creating a database via the Notion UI will see this event. Adding a new data source to an existing database fires `data_source.created` instead — use `NOTION_DATASOURCE_CREATED` for that. Notion's payload puts `entity.type: "block"` (the container is a `child_database` block in the content tree) and `entity.id` is the database id.
List Pipelines for Project
Tool to list all pipelines for a specific project. use when you need to retrieve the pipelines for a project (e.g., to display recent runs on a dashboard).
Data Source Created
Triggers when a new Notion data source is created. Fires workspace-wide. The payload's `data.parent` carries the data source's tree parent (typically the teamspace) for downstream filtering. A single template-based database creation can fire multiple `data_source.created` events at once — one per data source the template instantiates.
List Self-Hosted Runners
Tool to list available self-hosted runners. use when you need to retrieve all configured self-hosted runners for your organization.
Data Source Schema Updated
Triggers when a Notion data source's schema is updated. Fires on column add / remove / rename. Payload includes `data.updated_properties: [{id, name, action}]` so consumers can discriminate the kind of change downstream. Optional `data_source_id` filter scopes to schema changes on a single data source. When omitted, fires for any schema change in the workspace the integration has access to. Note: adding a column also fires `page.properties_updated` once per existing row in the data source. Customers wanting a single structural-change signal should use this trigger.
List Workflows by Pipeline ID
Tool to list all workflows associated with a specific pipeline. use when you need to fetch or paginate through workflows by pipeline id.
Four ways to start an automation.
A trigger is the event that kicks a workflow off. Notis supports four kinds: an event in a connected app, an inbound webhook, a recurring schedule, and soon, your own database.
Integration triggers
Fire when something happens inside a connected app. New Notion page, Stripe charge, Linear issue: any of 1,000+ apps can start a workflow.
Webhook triggers
A unique URL per workflow. Anything that can send an HTTP POST can start an automation, including no-code tools that speak webhooks.
Recurring triggers
Cron-style schedules run a workflow on the clock. Daily standups, hourly syncs, business-hours-only digests: the workhorse of Notis.
Database triggers
Watch a row, query, or threshold in your own database and fire the moment the data changes. Row inserted, value crosses a limit, query starts matching.
Classic automation breaks. AI adapts.
Same triggers and actions, smarter middle. AI handles the fuzziness that breaks traditional Zapier-style workflows the moment a field gets renamed.
Describe it. Notis builds it.
Skip the visual builder. Tell Notis what you want, in plain English. It writes the workflow, you review and deploy.
