Onboard Clients Instantly Across Systems

You add a new client to Notion but forget to import them into WhatsApp groups or your contact system. Notis creates the contact and adds them to the right group the moment they enter your database, so client communication flows without friction.

Trigger

New Page

Triggers when a new page is added to a Notion database.

Action

Create Contact

Tool to create a new contact in your 2chat account. use after gathering and verifying first name and at least one contact detail (email, phone, or address).

Why this helps

New clients added to Notion but scattered across CRM, email, Slack, and WhatsApp; manual sync overhead.

  • Clients appear in WhatsApp instantly after being added to Notion
  • No manual contact creation steps
  • Ensure consistent client comms across channels
  • Reduce time to first message

Setup

Build it in a few focused steps.

  • 1Connect Notion and 2chat to Notis.
  • 2Create automation: 'When a new page is created in my Clients database, extract the client name and phone number or email, create them as a 2chat contact, and add them to the main client broadcast group.'
  • 3Select trigger: New Page from Notion (scoped to Clients database).
  • 4Set your notification channel.
  • 5Test by adding a client row to your Notion database and checking 2chat for the new contact.

Questions about this workflow

What if the client's phone or email is missing from Notion?

Tell Notis to prompt you for the missing detail or skip onboarding until data is complete.

Can different clients go to different WhatsApp groups?

Yes. Use a 'Client Type' or 'Region' field in Notion to route clients to segment-specific groups.

Do existing clients get re-added?

No. Notis only processes new page creations, so client data updates won't re-trigger onboarding.

Database Created

Triggers when a new Notion database (the container) is created. A database is the post-2025-09-03 container that holds one or more data sources. This trigger fires for the container's creation event (`database.created`), distinct from `NOTION_DATASOURCE_CREATED` which fires when a new data source is added to an existing database. Most customers calling Notion's `POST /v1/databases` (the legacy API) or creating a database via the Notion UI will see this event. Adding a new data source to an existing database fires `data_source.created` instead — use `NOTION_DATASOURCE_CREATED` for that. Notion's payload puts `entity.type: "block"` (the container is a `child_database` block in the content tree) and `entity.id` is the database id.

TriggerInstant

Data Source Created

Triggers when a new Notion data source is created. Fires workspace-wide. The payload's `data.parent` carries the data source's tree parent (typically the teamspace) for downstream filtering. A single template-based database creation can fire multiple `data_source.created` events at once — one per data source the template instantiates.

TriggerInstant

Data Source Schema Updated

Triggers when a Notion data source's schema is updated. Fires on column add / remove / rename. Payload includes `data.updated_properties: [{id, name, action}]` so consumers can discriminate the kind of change downstream. Optional `data_source_id` filter scopes to schema changes on a single data source. When omitted, fires for any schema change in the workspace the integration has access to. Note: adding a column also fires `page.properties_updated` once per existing row in the data source. Customers wanting a single structural-change signal should use this trigger.
