Keep library references in Drive specs current
Set a recurring documentation check for selected specs, with current Context7 references ready for your review.
Trigger
Recurring schedule
Notis starts this workflow on a schedule, such as daily, weekly, or during business hours.
Action
Query-docs
Retrieves and queries up-to-date documentation and code examples from Context7 for any programming library or framework. You must call 'resolve-library-id' first to obtain the exact Context7-compatible library ID required to use this tool, UNLESS the user explicitly provides a library ID in the format '/org/project' or '/org/project/version' in their query. IMPORTANT: Do not call this tool more than 3 times per question. If you cannot find what you need after 3 calls, use the best information you have.
Why this helps
A spec may stay untouched while its library documentation changes, leaving a manual catch-up for later.
- Create a recurring review point for documentation references in specs.
- Collect current documentation and code examples for clearly named libraries.
- Keep run summaries in a chosen report channel for review.
Setup
Build it in a few focused steps.
- 1Connect Google Drive and Context7 MCP once in the Notis portal.
- 2Create an automation in Automations, New Automation, and name the recurring spec check.
- 3In one instruction, ask Notis to review the relevant Drive specs, use only library names and versions stated in them, resolve library IDs when required, and query Context7 for relevant references.
- 4Pick a schedule trigger and choose where run reports go.
- 5Test with one real spec before relying on the recurring run.
Questions about this workflow
Can the schedule target a particular folder?
Use the plain-language instruction to identify the relevant specs. The workflow setup does not add a separate field-mapping or filter screen.
Will it detect every documentation change?
The action retrieves current Context7 documentation when the scheduled run occurs; it does not provide a change history or baseline unless one is supplied.
What happens when a spec lacks a library version?
Ask Notis to state that the version is unspecified and avoid presenting the result as version-specific.

Webhook trigger
Notis starts this workflow when an external tool or custom backend sends an HTTP request.
Resolve-library-id
Resolves a package/product name to a Context7-compatible library ID and returns matching libraries. You MUST call this function before 'query-docs' to obtain a valid Context7-compatible library ID UNLESS the user explicitly provides a library ID in the format '/org/project' or '/org/project/version' in their query. Selection Process: 1. Analyze the query to understand what library/package the user is looking for 2. Return the most relevant match based on: - Name similarity to the query (exact matches prioritized) - Description relevance to the query's intent - Documentation coverage (prioritize libraries with higher Code Snippet counts) - Source reputation (consider libraries with High or Medium reputation more authoritative) - Benchmark Score: Quality indicator (100 is the highest score) Response Format: - Return the selected library ID in a clearly marked section - Provide a brief explanation for why this library was chosen - If multiple good matches exist, acknowledge this but proceed with the most relevant one - If no good matches exist, clearly state this and suggest query refinements For ambiguous queries, request clarification before proceeding with a best-guess match. IMPORTANT: Do not call this tool more than 3 times per question. If you cannot find what you need after 3 calls, use the best result you have.
Comment Added (Docs/Sheets/Slides)
Triggers when a new comment is added to Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
File Created
Triggers when a new file is created in Google Drive.
File Deleted or Trashed
Triggers when a file is moved to trash or permanently deleted in Drive.
File Shared (Permissions Added)
Triggers when new sharing permissions are granted to a file or folder. Uses Drive's `changes.list` endpoint with inline `permissions` in the `fields` mask so each change carries the file's current permission set provider-atomically. We diff that against `seen_permission_keys` to identify newly added grants. Drive page tokens are the primary cursor; if Drive rejects a stored token, the trigger raises `PollingTriggerError` without clearing state rather than silently re-baselining and dropping events. Limitation: truly ephemeral permissions (added and revoked between two polls without any other file modification in between) are not detected. Drive Activity API would catch those but requires an additional OAuth scope and a different payload contract.
File Updated
Triggers when a file's metadata or content changes in Google Drive.
