Resolve the right Context7 library from a new Drive file
Spot a package name in a new file and get its Context7 library ID ready for the next documentation search.

Action
Resolve-library-id
Resolves a package/product name to a Context7-compatible library ID and returns matching libraries. You MUST call this function before 'query-docs' to obtain a valid Context7-compatible library ID UNLESS the user explicitly provides a library ID in the format '/org/project' or '/org/project/version' in their query. Selection Process: 1. Analyze the query to understand what library/package the user is looking for 2. Return the most relevant match based on: - Name similarity to the query (exact matches prioritized) - Description relevance to the query's intent - Documentation coverage (prioritize libraries with higher Code Snippet counts) - Source reputation (consider libraries with High or Medium reputation more authoritative) - Benchmark Score: Quality indicator (100 is the highest score) Response Format: - Return the selected library ID in a clearly marked section - Provide a brief explanation for why this library was chosen - If multiple good matches exist, acknowledge this but proceed with the most relevant one - If no good matches exist, clearly state this and suggest query refinements For ambiguous queries, request clarification before proceeding with a best-guess match. IMPORTANT: Do not call this tool more than 3 times per question. If you cannot find what you need after 3 calls, use the best result you have.
Why this helps
A new spec or task lands in Drive, but looking up its library ID interrupts the work already in progress.
- Reduce manual steps before a version-specific documentation search.
- Prepare an exact library identifier from a package name found in a new file.
- Keep discovery close to where specs and technical notes arrive.
Setup
Build it in a few focused steps.
- 1Connect Google Drive and Context7 MCP once in the Notis portal.
- 2Create an automation in Automations, New Automation, and give it a clear name.
- 3In one instruction, ask Notis to inspect a new file for an explicit package or framework name and resolve it with Context7; report when the name is unclear.
- 4Pick the Google Drive File Created trigger, then choose where run reports go.
- 5Test with one real file that names a library.
Questions about this workflow
Does this retrieve documentation too?
No. It resolves the package or product name to a Context7-compatible library ID. A separate automation can use Query-docs for the actual lookup.
What if a file mentions several libraries?
Tell Notis to resolve each clearly named library and report ambiguous names for review.
Will it infer a package name from vague context?
The instruction should limit resolution to explicit names in the file. Ask Notis to flag uncertainty instead of guessing.

Supported Triggers and Actions
Notis builds workflows that link Google Drive to Context7 MCP. A trigger fires from one place; an action lands in another.

Recurring trigger
Notis starts this workflow on a schedule, such as daily, weekly, or during business hours.
Query-docs
Retrieves and queries up-to-date documentation and code examples from Context7 for any programming library or framework. You must call 'resolve-library-id' first to obtain the exact Context7-compatible library ID required to use this tool, UNLESS the user explicitly provides a library ID in the format '/org/project' or '/org/project/version' in their query. IMPORTANT: Do not call this tool more than 3 times per question. If you cannot find what you need after 3 calls, use the best information you have.
Webhook trigger
Notis starts this workflow when an external tool or custom backend sends an HTTP request.

Comment Added (Docs/Sheets/Slides)
Triggers when a new comment is added to Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
File Created
Triggers when a new file is created in Google Drive.
File Deleted or Trashed
Triggers when a file is moved to trash or permanently deleted in Drive.
File Shared (Permissions Added)
Triggers when new sharing permissions are granted to a file or folder. Uses Drive's `changes.list` endpoint with inline `permissions` in the `fields` mask so each change carries the file's current permission set provider-atomically. We diff that against `seen_permission_keys` to identify newly added grants. Drive page tokens are the primary cursor; if Drive rejects a stored token, the trigger raises `PollingTriggerError` without clearing state rather than silently re-baselining and dropping events. Limitation: truly ephemeral permissions (added and revoked between two polls without any other file modification in between) are not detected. Drive Activity API would catch those but requires an additional OAuth scope and a different payload contract.
File Updated
Triggers when a file's metadata or content changes in Google Drive.
