Examples

Ways Notis can move work from Notion to Docparser

View example

Bring parsed invoice results into a new review

When an invoice review page is added to a Notion database, retrieve Docparser results for the relevant invoice parser and summarize the parsed details for review.

View example

Check available parsers when expense fields change

When an expense database page's properties change, have Notis list Docparser parsers so you can spot available document parsing options while updating your process.

View example

Bring parsed contract details into an updated page

When contract page content changes, retrieve relevant Docparser results and summarize extracted details alongside the revised context for a focused review.

View example

Answer a document check request in a Notion comment

When someone comments with a document-check request, retrieve relevant Docparser results and provide a concise summary for the discussion.

View example

Review parser layouts after a database schema change

When a Notion data source schema changes, retrieve Docparser model layouts to help assess whether document layout variants need attention.

View example

Bring vendor document results into a new record

When a vendor record page is created, retrieve relevant Docparser results to help prepare a concise onboarding or review summary.

View example

Retrieve parsed results from a page-specific question

When a new comment lands on a chosen Notion page or block, retrieve relevant Docparser results and summarize them for the question at hand.

View example

Add parsed document context to a new project subpage

When a subpage is added beneath a selected project page, retrieve relevant Docparser results to give the new page useful document context.

View example

Check parser inventory after updating an operations page

When a specified operations page changes, list Docparser parsers to help maintain an up-to-date view of the document tools behind the process.

Supported Triggers and Actions

Notis builds workflows that link Notion to Docparser. A trigger fires from one place; an action lands in another.

Notion triggers

Docparser actions

Recurring trigger

Notis starts this workflow on a schedule, such as daily, weekly, or during business hours.

TriggerScheduled

Get Multiple Document Results

Tool to retrieve parsed data from multiple documents processed by a specific parser. Use when you need to fetch results for multiple documents at once. Returns up to 100 results by default, with a maximum of 10000.

ActionInstant

Webhook trigger

Notis starts this workflow when an external tool or custom backend sends an HTTP request.

TriggerInstant

Get Parser Models

Tool to retrieve all model layouts for a specific parser. Use when you need to list different layout configurations within a parser that help handle document variations.

ActionInstant

All Page Events

Triggers when any Notion page is created or updated across the workspace.

TriggerPolling

List Parsers

Tool to retrieve all Document Parsers linked to your account. Use when you need to view available parsers or obtain parser IDs for subsequent operations.

ActionInstant

Comment Created

Triggers when a new comment is created in Notion. Optional `page_id` filter scopes to comments on a specific page. When omitted, fires for any new comment in the workspace the integration has access to. Requires the 'Read comments' capability on the Notion integration. If a connection was authorized before that capability was enabled, the user must re-authorize the connection for comment events to flow.

TriggerInstant

Ping API

Tool to test API authentication and connection health check for Docparser API. Use when you need to verify that API credentials are valid and the connection is working.

ActionInstant

New Comment

Triggers when a new comment is added to a specified Notion block or page.

TriggerPolling

Database Created

Triggers when a new Notion database (the container) is created. A database is the post-2025-09-03 container that holds one or more data sources. This trigger fires for the container's creation event (`database.created`), distinct from `NOTION_DATASOURCE_CREATED` which fires when a new data source is added to an existing database. Most customers calling Notion's `POST /v1/databases` (the legacy API) or creating a database via the Notion UI will see this event. Adding a new data source to an existing database fires `data_source.created` instead — use `NOTION_DATASOURCE_CREATED` for that. Notion's payload puts `entity.type: "block"` (the container is a `child_database` block in the content tree) and `entity.id` is the database id.

TriggerInstant

Data Source Created

Triggers when a new Notion data source is created. Fires workspace-wide. The payload's `data.parent` carries the data source's tree parent (typically the teamspace) for downstream filtering. A single template-based database creation can fire multiple `data_source.created` events at once — one per data source the template instantiates.

TriggerInstant

Data Source Schema Updated

Triggers when a Notion data source's schema is updated. Fires on column add / remove / rename. Payload includes `data.updated_properties: [{id, name, action}]` so consumers can discriminate the kind of change downstream. Optional `data_source_id` filter scopes to schema changes on a single data source. When omitted, fires for any schema change in the workspace the integration has access to. Note: adding a column also fires `page.properties_updated` once per existing row in the data source. Customers wanting a single structural-change signal should use this trigger.

Trigger Types

Four ways to start an automation.

A trigger is the event that kicks a workflow off. Notis supports four kinds: an event in a connected app, an inbound webhook, a recurring schedule, and soon, your own database.

Integration triggers

Fire when something happens inside a connected app. New Notion page, Stripe charge, Linear issue: any of 1,000+ apps can start a workflow.

New Notion pageStripe chargeCalendar event

Webhook triggers

A unique URL per workflow. Anything that can send an HTTP POST can start an automation, including no-code tools that speak webhooks.

Recurring triggers

Cron-style schedules run a workflow on the clock. Daily standups, hourly syncs, business-hours-only digests: the workhorse of Notis.

Database triggers

Watch a row, query, or threshold in your own database and fire the moment the data changes. Row inserted, value crosses a limit, query starts matching.

Why AI automation

Classic automation breaks. AI adapts.

Same triggers and actions, smarter middle. AI handles the fuzziness that breaks traditional Zapier-style workflows the moment a field gets renamed.
