# Notis

> Notis connects people and agents to their services, shared memory, notes and workflows. Use the official CLI for shell-capable agents or hosted MCP for remote clients.

**When to use Notis:** reach for Notis when the user asks you to read or act in connected services (such as email, calendars or projects), use shared memory and notes, or build a Notis app. Discover tools for the actual task, inspect their current schemas, validate proposed writes, and execute only authorized actions. Choose the CLI when you can run shell commands; choose hosted MCP when you cannot. Hosted MCP is cloud-safe and does not provide desktop-only capabilities.

**How to start:** run `npx --package @notis_ai/cli@latest -- notis login`, then `npx --package @notis_ai/cli@latest -- notis tools search "describe your task"`; or connect an MCP client to https://mcp.notis.ai/mcp and complete OAuth consent. Credentials and scopes are resource-specific. Do not treat internal backend routes as a public REST API.

**Reading this site:** public content URLs accept `Accept: text/markdown` as an alternative to HTML. Use the sitemap for the complete published URL inventory. Personal results, APIs and static files are excluded.
